Aqua Wave on a Gold Cast Base Resin Sculpture - 70cm, twisting blue water ribbons rising from a gold swell-shaped base, shown on a plain white background.
Aqua Wave on a Gold Cast Base Resin Sculpture - 70cm $2,42100
Description

Ribbons of aqua water twist round one another in a long, low sweep above a gold base shaped like a swell, so the piece reads as one movement carried in two materials. At one end the ribbons open into a loop of spray with branching fingertips; at the other a long arm climbs steeply to a burst of points, and a second reaches out flat to a forked tip. The water touches the base at a single point near its middle, and the gold rises at one end into a small crest of its own, its surface carrying a soft metallic sheen.

Water Rising Out of Water in Two Materials

Two materials meeting is easy to do badly, and here the meeting is kept to a minimum: the aqua water comes down to touch the gold at one point and lifts away again on both sides, so the two read as the same sea at two moments rather than as a sculpture on a stand. Above that point the ribbons wind round each other and then pull apart, one climbing steeply, one running out flat and one turning back into a loop, and each ends in branching fingers that pale towards their tips. The gold beneath answers with a slow undulation and a single small crest.

The gold has a soft metallic sheen and the aqua resin is glossy, so a single hard light can make one of them glare while the other goes flat; it wants something diffuse. Daylight, or a lamp with a shade, holds the two together. Long and shallow, it sits easily on a sideboard, a console or a deep shelf, and it is low enough to go in front of a mirror or a picture without covering it. Give it room at both ends, since the spray reaches out past the base on either side.

Other Metal Finishes, a Higher Leap, and Delivery

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. The gold base is shaped as a swell and the aqua wave meets it at a single point, so two materials have to read as one movement. The gold is offered in a silver or a bronze, the aqua is taken to a deeper blue, and the wave is drawn further clear of the base. The base can also be made flat where the piece is going onto a plinth that already does that job. It arrives in one crate with the wave faced and the base bedded beneath it; lift it by the base, never by the ribbons of water. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Aqua ribbons of water twisting above a gold swell sit with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
