Aqua-Rimmed Clear Tub Shell & Timber Base Resin Armchair - 78cm
Aqua-Rimmed Clear Tub Shell & Timber Base Resin Armchair - 78cm $3,57900
Description

This tub armchair keeps its shell almost entirely colourless, with a band of clear aqua running round the rim and sweeping out into the two pointed wings at the sides. At each side, where the arms join the back, the shell is pierced by a big oval, and through those openings the room carries on at elbow height; the seat and back between them are clear. The shell rests on near-black timber legs that splay out from a central plate under the seat.

A Clear Tub Shell Edged in Aqua

The colour here is all in the edge. Because the shell is clear, its rim is where the eye meets the most material, and tinting only that band draws the outline of the chair in aqua, as if it had been sketched around a glass bowl. The wings at the sides flare outward, and the aqua is strongest at their points. Through the clear seat and back the room carries on uninterrupted, so the dark legs seem to hold up a drawing rather than a solid chair. Light from a window catches the aqua rim and makes it glow.

With its rim at 78cm it is a full armchair to sink into, at home in a bedroom corner, a reading spot near a window or a living room that needs a seat without visual weight. The aqua edge brings a cool note to white, grey and pale wood schemes, and the clear shell keeps a small room feeling open. Indoor use only.

Rim Colour, Openings and the Base

As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The rim can be tinted in another colour or the shell left wholly clear, and the seat and back can be given a colour of their own. The openings can stay as two large ovals or be cut as modest slots, and the legs can be supplied in timber or in metal. A set bought together is tinted side by side so every rim matches. Shell and legs travel in one crate and are joined on arrival with the fixings included. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Aqua edging a clear tub gives this armchair a place among our resin sculptures; the curving, open shape suits our organic sculptures, while our art furniture gathers chairs like it.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
