Aqua Knotted Scholar's Rock Resin Sculpture - 97cm by Giant Sculptures, a looped aqua resin form with rippled surface on a black marble base, plain white background.
Aqua Knotted Scholar's Rock Resin Sculpture - 97cm $2,29400
Description

A shallow scholar's rock in clear aqua, its material a single unbroken band that turns back over itself to close two big loops and a third opening at the foot. The aqua is even through the band, deepening a little in the folds, and the surface ripples along its whole length. It comes with a black marble base.

Aqua Running Round a Closed Knot

Colour gives the knot a body. In clear resin the band reads as a bright outline; in aqua it reads as a solid ribbon of sea colour, and the voids it closes become windows of open space set in blue. The band is broad from the front and narrow from the side, so the piece fills a wall face on and almost vanishes edge on, and the aqua makes that change even more marked. The close ripples along the band each carry a highlight, so the colour flickers as you pass.

A sideboard or a long console set against a pale wall takes it at 97cm on its marble, where the aqua and the voids both read. It works close to a wall, since its face is the view, but the voids want a light ground behind. A raking light along the wall picks out the ripples. It suits a hallway too.

Aqua, the Loops, and Delivery

Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. The aqua can be deepened toward blue or eased toward a paler green, and the band can be cast clear with colour kept to its edges. One, two or three loops can be chosen at order. Paler marble can be cut for the base. It is laid flat in its crate on shaped supports rather than stood up, and the solid band is where to take hold, never a loop. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

An aqua band knotted round its voids belongs with our abstract sculptures; loops closed by one unbroken band join it to our organic sculptures, and sea colour carried through a shallow casting suits our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
