Aqua Ice Textured Mountain on Black Marble Resin Sculpture, 120cm, with twin peaks and icy turquoise ridges on a long black marble base, plain light background.
Aqua Ice Textured Mountain on Black Marble Resin Sculpture - 120cm $7,01300
Description

A broad mountain in aqua resin whose surface is worked into a crust of ice, ridged and rimed over every face, with the colour deepening to turquoise in the hollows. Two summits rise at the back and the mass steps down toward the front, and the whole piece sits on a long black marble base that runs the length of the mountain.

Aqua Resin Worked to a Crust of Ice

The surface is what makes this piece. Instead of being polished smooth, the resin is worked while it sets into a crust of ridges and rime, so that it reads as ice formed over rock rather than as glass. The aqua lies deeper in the hollows of that crust and thinner over its edges, and where light strikes the ridges they flash almost white. Beneath it the black marble is cut plain and flat, the one quiet surface in the piece, and it holds the mountain clear of whatever it stands on so the lower edge of the ice reads.

At this size it suits a long sideboard or a wide console, or a reception counter where it is seen from across the room. It needs space on all sides for the crust to be appreciated, and it is at its best lit from above or from one side, when every ridge of the ice catches light. Against a dark wall the aqua glows; against a pale one it reads cooler.

The Ice, the Marble, and Delivery

Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. The crust can be worked finer or coarser, and the aqua taken deeper toward blue, paled almost to clear or changed for another tint, while the marble beneath can be cut in a paler stone. The marble can be cut longer or deeper to suit the surface it stands on. It travels crated, the mountain bedded in foam and the marble packed on its own, and two people should lift each part, the marble first. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Rock rimed over with a crust of ice belongs with our organic sculptures; aqua deepening in its hollows suits our resin sculptures, and a mountain set on black marble joins our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
