Aqua Granulated Hook Curl Resin Sculpture - 100cm, a textured curved resin hook fading from aqua blue to white, shown on a plain white background.
Aqua Granulated Hook Curl Resin Sculpture - 100cm $6,34200
Description

A single thick hook of resin, opened wide and stopped short of closing, standing on the bottom of its outer curve while both ends rise into the air and are drawn away to a point. Aqua sits in the core of the curl and gives out to white at both drawn tips. Nothing comes under it, and the curl takes its own weight where the arc meets the floor.

Worked Coarse on Purpose

A curl worked to a coarse surface is making a claim about weather rather than about glass. The band is broadest through the bottom of the curve, where it meets the floor, and narrows steadily towards its two raised tips, so the outline tapers away at both ends like a crest about to break. The aqua follows the same line: it is deepest along the inside of the curl and clears to a frosted white as the band thins towards each point. The surface is granulated to a coarse frost, so the curl reads as ice rather than as glass.

Stand it on the floor or raise it on a plinth, with an uninterrupted wall behind it at the height of the curl so the opening reads against something plain. Daylight from a window catches every grain of the frost, and a low light across the face brings the texture up further still. A hallway, a reception or the corner of a large living room gives it the distance it needs to be seen whole.

Spans, Texture and Getting It There

Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The granulation is taken finer, the aqua is carried to the tips, and the curl is made at other spans. Change the span and the band is redrawn to keep the same taper towards its two tips. It arrives crated on a pallet and is lifted out from beneath rather than by the curl. Once out, it is stood straight onto the bottom of its curve, with no hand on either raised tip. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A thick aqua hook frosted to a coarse grain and resting on its own curve is shown with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.

Questions Before You Order?
