Aqua Frosted Rising Sweep Resin Sculpture, 40cm, a wave-like aqua resin curve with a scrolled lip and open tip on a white block base, set against a plain light background.
Aqua Frosted Rising Sweep Resin Sculpture - 40cm $2,55600
Description

A single sweep that rises at both ends, with one end drawn further round than the other: one rolls over into a scrolled lip, while the opposite end lifts into a broad, open tip. A second fold runs along the inside of the curve. One aqua holds the whole sweep, deepest along the rims and at the turns, and pales almost to white where the curve comes down to its block. The white block comes with it and is cut square to the width of the sweep.

A Turn Made Visible Without a Highlight

A frosted surface on a twisting form is a way of making the turn visible without using a highlight to do it. Because the two ends are unequal the piece has a front, which a symmetrical sweep would not, and the frost is what makes that readable from any angle rather than only in profile. Cast resin takes a frost evenly across a curve; a ground glass surface would break up where the sweep tightens. The whole surface is frosted, which turns the aqua from a colour you see through into one you see on.

A console table takes this one, set where you pass it rather than where you sit. It wants something quiet behind, because the frost takes its tone from whatever is there. Frosted, it holds light rather than passing it, so a lamp near it will make the aqua glow. At a distance it is a single aqua curve; the frost and the two unequal ends resolve later.

Finish, Stone and Getting It In

In the workshop a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. On request the sweep is left clear instead of frosted, the aqua deepened or cooled towards blue, and the block made in dark marble. The block is cut to whatever width the sweep ends at, so the two are settled together. The inner fold can be drawn closer to the rim or let out across the curve, which changes how the sweep reads from the front. Sweep and block travel in one crate, each padded on its own. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A frosted aqua sweep rising unequally at its two ends sits with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
