A thick aqua crescent in cast resin on a black marble block, this sculpture is left crystalline rather than polished, and six fish swim out from it on two fine wires that loop away from one tip of the crescent and come back to the other. The crescent is heavy in section and textured all over, so it holds its colour as a solid mass rather than a transparent one, and each fish is polished near-black on top with a gilded underside, the only surfaces on the piece that take a shine.
Two wires have to look like one shoal. They leave the upper tip of the crescent, loop out in a pair of linked curves and come back to the tip below, and the six fish ride along them at different heights and angles, so there is nothing holding the group together except where they sit relative to one another, and a shoal is read as a shape, not as a count. Too even and it becomes a diagram of a shoal; too scattered and it is six separate fish. The wires also have to clear each other and the crescent from every angle a person will see the piece from, which is not the same as clearing them in the one view the design was drawn in. That is settled by turning the piece and adjusting until nothing touches from anywhere.
The wires disappear against anything busy, so the fish only read against a plain ground. Against a papered wall or a crowded shelf they simply float with nothing explaining them, and the piece looks unfinished. A plain painted wall, a large mirror or clear air with the room beyond all work. Set it where it is met face on, since from the front the six fish read as one loose spiral of gold running off the ends of the crescent. Light from in front lifts the gilding; light from behind reduces the fish to silhouettes and the crescent to a dark arc.
Work on a bespoke commission runs to 5–6 weeks, on a standard piece to 3–4. Most of that time goes on the wire work, since the spacing of the fish is settled by eye and all six have to agree at once. The crescent can be built in a deeper blue where a quieter piece suits, scale is set at order, the gilding is offered in a silver or a blackened finish, and the texture can be brought to a polish where a plainer surface is wanted. The fish arrive detached and packed flat in the same foam-lined case as the crescent, and they are fitted on site: each wire pushes into its seat in the crescent and is turned by hand to its angle. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Six gilt fish swimming out on looping wires from the tips of an aqua crescent lead into our organic sculptures, our metal sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
