Description

A blade of aqua resin rising from a narrow, twisted foot into a broad fan that curves over at the top like a wave about to break or a feather in the wind. The upper part is combed with fine parallel grooves that spread along its sweep, and the broad face near the foot is smooth and a deeper aqua, with the grooves running on down either edge of the stem. It stands on its own twisted foot.

A Blade of Aqua Fanning Out at the Top

The blade works through contrast between its two halves. Below, the broad face is smooth and dense and the colour is deep, which gives the foot weight and calm; above, it is combed into fine grooves that fan out with the curve, so the top breaks up into lines of light and seems to move. The twist at the foot turns the whole blade a little, so it never presents a flat face, and the curve at the top gives it a direction, like a wave running for the shore.

At 163cm it wants a floor position by a stair, in a lobby or in a lofty sitting room, placed where it is seen side on as well as face on. A white or pale wall behind it makes the aqua glow; daylight from one side makes the combed grooves sparkle. It suits a corner or the space beside a doorway, where its height is an asset.

Aqua Depth, the Grooves and Raising It

Our workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. The aqua can be deepened, paled or changed to a blue, a green or clear, and the grooves can be combed finer or extended further down the blade. A clear blade turns the grooves into pure light and makes the twist easier to read. It is raised onto its foot by the stem, with a second pair of hands steadying the blade, and never lifted by the fan. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
