Aqua Bubble-Edged Hook Curl Resin Sculpture, 75cm, a glossy curved hook shape with pale aqua tones and a bubble-textured outer edge, shown on a plain white background.
Aqua Bubble-Edged Hook Curl Resin Sculpture - 75cm $3,02600
Description

A thick hook of aqua resin that turns most of the way round, the opening left wide and both ends cut off square, the upper one flaring broad as it finishes. Aqua gathers through the back of the curve and the foot and pales to a whitish aqua at either end. The faces are polished to a high gloss, while the outer edge carries a rough band of bubbles and crushed, ice-like texture. Nothing comes under it, and the curl stands on a flat foot at the bottom of its curve.

Gloss on the Faces, Ice at the Edge

The piece is built on a contrast between two surfaces. The broad faces are polished glassy smooth, so the light runs across them in long, bright highlights and the aqua is seen deep inside the body. The outer edge is left rough instead, a band of bubbles and crushed texture running round the curve like ice breaking along a shoreline. The colour follows the mass of the curl: it is deepest through the back of the curve and the foot, where the band is broadest, and fades to a whitish aqua as each arm runs out to its squared end.

A console or a sideboard suits it, turned so the opening faces the room. A plain wall lets the opening read; anything busy closes it up. Sunlight flashes across the polished faces and picks out each bubble along the rough edge on its own. The aqua core carries from anywhere; the bubbles are a thing you find at arm's length.

Bubbles, Spans and Getting It In

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. The bubbled edge is left smooth, the aqua is deepened through the turn, and the arc is drawn at other widths. Left smooth, the edge is polished with the faces, and the curl reads as one glassy band from rim to rim. It travels as a single piece, crated upright and bedded around the arc, and it is lifted out by the body of the curve rather than by either of its squared ends. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A polished aqua hook with a bubbled, ice-rough rim and two squared ends is part of our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
