Black marble, supplied with it, forms the block this scholar's rock stands on. From a narrow foot the material rises and divides into two arms that lean apart and point upward, enclosing a tall oval opening between them, with a second round opening low in the stem. The colour is a light cyan throughout with white clouding through the arms.
Everything here is decided by how little the piece stands on. The foot is barely wider than a wrist, and from there the mass climbs, thickens, and splits into two unequal arms, the left one rising further and drawn to a point and the right one broader and ending in a ragged crest. Between them the opening is a long oval, wider at the middle than at either end, and it is a very large void for the mass around it. That makes the piece read as a growing thing rather than as a stone, and it is why it looks different from every side: from the front the two arms frame the opening, and from the side they close and the object becomes a single rising line. Colour is carried in the material, palest at the tips where the mass is least and gathering to a clear cyan through the middle, with white clouds through both arms.
At 68cm it suits a console table, a credenza or a reception desk, tall enough to take a lamp's place rather than sit beside one, and the block needs nothing under it. The narrow foot means it must go somewhere it will not be knocked, and somewhere with space around it: the opening between the arms is the subject, and it needs something behind to look through to, so clear wall or a window behind is worth far more than a plain surface under it. A lamp set beside it, not above, is what pulls the two limbs apart. Indoor use only.
Count on the difference between standard and bespoke: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. What gets settled at order is the reach: how far apart the two limbs are drawn, which is the only decision here that changes the object fundamentally rather than cosmetically. Held close they make a single cleft object, considerably calmer and more solid; taken wide they become nearly a drawing in the air. On finish, this pale tint is standard, with a green, an amber and a version carrying no pigment at all, and the strength of tone is set across the whole range at order. The cloudiness is optional. Other heights are built, and when it is built up the studio thickens the footing, which is worth knowing because it shifts the balance of the piece. Packing follows the shape: it goes out upright with each limb in its own moulded pocket, one person can lift it and two should place it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A narrow foot dividing into two arms belongs with our abstract sculptures; a tall oval held between the arms joins it to our organic sculptures, and cyan clouded with white through the body suits our resin sculptures.

Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
