A scroll shell in which a deep bowl sweeps up at one end into an open curl, its lip folding over at the top. Gold-toned flakes cover it inside and out, broken by silvery gaps where the clear yellow resin shows through, while a dark, smoky mottling gathers in a band along the lower wall of the bowl and in a patch across the inner face of the curl. A black marble slab is included and is cut well inside the footprint of the casting.
Covering a whole object in gold is harder than covering part of one, because there is then no plain surface to judge the gold against. The answer here is the antiquing: the flakes are broken by a dark, smoky mottling that follows the curvature, heaviest along the lower wall of the bowl and where the curl turns, and by silvery gaps where the clear resin shows between them. That gives back the thing an even gold withholds, which is a reading of the form, since the eye follows the dark passages round the bowl and up into the curl. An unbroken gold would return a single highlight, and the scroll would then collapse into a shape with no depth in it.
A console or a sideboard takes it, and the wall behind should carry no pattern, since the gold catches whatever stands opposite it as readily as the light in front. One directional source does far more than an even wash, lifting the flakes and leaving the smoky passages dark. Turn the open side towards the room, so that the bowl and the curl read as one sweep and the inner face of the curl, where the mottling gathers, is in view.
From order, a standard piece runs to 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission to 5–6. The dark mottling is left off for an even gold, the flakes are set more sparsely so that more of the clear yellow resin shows, and the slab is cut in white marble. It is repeated at other spans, with the mottling worked to the new surface rather than copied onto it. The scroll is also made with its gold stopped at the rim, leaving the outer wall in plain yellow resin, which makes a quieter and more conventional object. Crate and stone travel together with the slab wrapped separately, and the scroll is lifted from beneath the bowl and the root of the curl, never by the folded lip. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Set all over with gold-toned flakes and smoky mottling, this scroll shell on black marble belongs beside our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
