Amber Winged Shell Acrylic Dining Chair - 82cm
Amber Winged Shell Acrylic Dining Chair - 82cm $1,55300
Description

Deep amber gathers low in this dining chair, like honey at the bottom of a jar, then pales through the back until the two wings at the top are clear. The shell is moulded as one: the seat dished and finished in a curled front edge, the back pinched in at the middle and spreading into its wings above. Its surface is flecked all over with small droplets, and it is raised on dark metal legs angled out to the floor.

Amber in the Seat, Clear at the Wing Tips

Amber intensifies quickly with thickness, which is why it suits this shell: the deep seat and the curled front edge hold the most material and read darkest, and the colour falls away as the back is drawn up into the wings. The skill is in letting that fall happen evenly on both sides, so the shell is moulded symmetrically and inspected over a pale ground for any lopsided shading. The droplet texture is the last thing to judge, and it is held back so the amber stays clear rather than clouded.

Amber is a warm colour and it belongs with warm materials: an oak table, a terracotta floor, a kitchen with brass fittings. At 82cm the back lifts its clear wing tips over the table and lets the room show through them, so only the seats carry the colour round it. It glows when the light comes from low and behind, as it does from an evening window. Keep it off deep pile, where the legs sink.

Amber Depth, Leg Metal and Seating Several

Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. The amber can be deepened toward tortoiseshell, lightened to straw, or kept to the seat alone with the back left clear, and the legs can match other metal in the room, in chrome or brass as well as black. Seat height is matched to the table. It is priced as a single chair, with no minimum order. Each comes ready to use and is easily carried by one person; several are packed in one crate, each in its own wrap. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Amber that clears toward the wing tips belongs with our acrylic sculptures; dark legs angled out beneath a dished seat lead to our metal sculptures, and amber seating round an oak table joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
