Amber to Cream Domed Back Resin Chair - 70cm
Amber to Cream Domed Back Resin Chair - 70cm $3,37300
Description

A dining chair cast in clouded amber and cream resin. Back and seat are a single shell here. The back rises tall and domes over at the top, then sweeps down without a break into a dished seat, and the whole shell is translucent with cloudy swirls moving through it. The colour runs mostly upward: a deep amber gathered in the seat, along the rim and low on one side of the back, passing through honey to a milky cream over the dome and down the other side. Four slim timber legs, finished black, taper to the floor.

A Domed Back Over a Dished Seat

Colour does most of the work on this chair. The amber sits where the material is deepest, in the seat pan and along the rolled rim, and it thins as the back rises until the dome reads almost as milk. Because the shell is translucent to a good depth, the cloudy swirls inside it move as you walk past, and the dome is where they are most visible because that is where the colour is palest. Against all of it the four black legs read as drawn lines: slim, straight and matte, they carry no light at all and give the eye something fixed to measure the shell against. Every shell grades at a different point up the back.

At 70cm to the top of the dome it serves at a dining table or alone as an occasional seat, and the grading leaves it with a darker side and a paler one. Placed in a row with the ambers running the same way it reads as a set; alternated it reads as a pattern. A plain floor serves it, and light from behind is what makes the dome glow. Indoors only.

Where the Amber Gives Way, and the Legs Beneath

Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. Three things are worth deciding early. Where the amber gives way to the cream is the first choice, from this passage centred on the back through to amber held only in the seat. The tint is second: amber to cream as here, green to white, or a single flat tone throughout. And the legs, which can be these black timber ones, a pale oak that lightens the whole chair, or a polished metal. Seat height and overall width are each specified. Order more than one together and the amber-to-cream passage is matched across them. Crated with the domed back protected, it is a two-person lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Clouded amber rising into cream earns this chair a spot in our art furniture; the domed, rounded back is close to our organic sculptures, and the swirled pour to our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
