Amber Tiled Flame Column Resin Sculpture, 145cm, with a tiled cylindrical base splitting into three flame-like twisting points, shown on a plain white background.
Amber Tiled Flame Column Resin Sculpture - 145cm $14,85600
Description

An open column built from hundreds of small, flat tiles of amber resin stacked like bricks. Near the base the tiles form a closed cylinder; higher up the wall splits into three points that twist upward like flames or unfurling leaves, a slender one rising highest at the left and two broader ones beside it on the right. The amber runs the whole height, as deep in the points as at the foot, and where the wall is seen edge-on or the light comes through a gap between tiles it pales almost to clear.

A Column of Amber Tiles Breaking Into Flame

The tiles are the key to the piece: each is a small flat block, and stacked in staggered courses they build curved walls that can split and twist, which a solid casting could not do so lightly. Light passes between them, so the walls glow and flicker. The amber holds its depth all the way up, so the three points read as flames by their outline and by the glow between the tiles, not by any change of colour. The inside of the column is open and can be seen into.

At 145cm it wants floor space in a lofty hall, reception or sitting room with a path round it, since the three points change with every step. It also stands well in a corner lit from one side. A window behind it or a warm light beside it makes the amber glow. Against a pale wall its outline reads clearly. Seen from a stair or a landing above, the open top lets you look down inside the column.

Tint, Height and Lifting It

Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. Other tints are possible, red, blue or smoke, or a grade fading to clear at the points, and the column can be cast at a different height, with the three points drawn to suit. A red tint makes it read more strongly as fire, and the tiles can be set closer for a denser wall or opened out to let more light between them. It takes two people to stand it up, with their hands under the cylinder's foot and never on a point. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Hundreds of amber tiles rising into three twisting points, this flame of resin stands among our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
