Amber resin, marked through with dark brown streaks in the manner of tortoiseshell, forms this petal-shaped swivel chair. Its two shoulder lobes are almost lemon yellow, the colour warms through honey to a deep red-amber at the bottom of the seat, and the lip and arm tips run nearly black. The back lifts into a rounded crest, each arm ends in an outward-turned point, and the shell rides on a chrome column banded in black, above a mirror-bright disc.
Amber shifts with the depth of resin it is seen through, and this shell is shaped to use that. Where the walls stretch thin across the upper lobes the tint fades to a clear lemon; through the body it settles at honey; and low in the seat, where the eye meets more resin, it burns towards red-gold. Over all of it run dark brown streaks, some broad and some as fine as a hair, angled like the markings on tortoiseshell and never repeated from one chair to the next. The edge is darkest, and along the lip and up into each pointed tip the amber and brown merge into a glossy near-black line that frames the shell.
The back rises to 80cm, a height that suits a walnut desk, a library table or a dressing table in a warm-toned room. Timber, leather and old brass bring out the honey in it, and a lamp behind the chair turns the seat a glowing red-gold. The column swivels, so whoever sits can turn from the desk to the room. Indoors only.
A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. The streaking can be ordered heavier, for a darker tortoiseshell, or lighter so that the honey leads, and the amber itself can be pushed paler or richer. The column and disc are offered in this chrome, in black or in a brass finish, and an adjustable gas lift is available. Shell and base are crated separately and fixed together on arrival with the hardware packed in the crate. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Honey-amber petal seating with tortoiseshell streaks joins our art furniture; for the bright column turn to our metal sculptures, and for flower forms to our organic sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
