A single twist rising out of a cupped foot, the cup open to the front and the body drawn thinner as it climbs, standing on a block of dark stone cut close to the foot it carries. Amber through the cupped foot clearing as the twist rises. The block is black marble, and it is included.
A cupped foot under a single twist puts all the colour at the bottom and none at the top, which is what makes the rise look effortless. The cup is the whole structure of the piece and also the only place any quantity of material sits. Everything above it is drawn thin, which is why the twist can rise as far as it does without needing anything behind it. Amber gathered in the casting's foot and thinning as it rises makes the base look solid and the top look like clear air, so a single twist appears to lift off its own support. Polished the whole way up, with the cup taken to the same grade inside as out.
A shelf or a cabinet top with headroom above it, since the twist rises well clear of its own foot. Set it where the open side of the cup faces into the room, because that hollow is the only part of the piece holding any quantity of colour. Pale. The clearing top needs a light ground to read against. Light from the front fills the cup; light from above runs the length of the twist. The twist carries and the cup is the close-range fact.
Order a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. The twist can be tightened, more of the body can be given to the amber, and the design is made at other sizes. Tighten the twist and the cup has to deepen, because the same material then has less height to occupy. How tight the twist runs can be specified, and the cup deepens as it tightens: a body drawn into fewer turns has to put its bulk somewhere, and the foot is where it goes. The two figures are quoted together. One crate, on its stone, ready to place. One person, lifting at the block. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A single twist lifting off a cupped foot belongs to our organic sculptures; amber pooled in its cup sets it apart in our resin sculptures, and more to set by a window waits in our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
