An amber resin cap seated over a floor-standing column of brushed metal. The column is cruciform, four flat fins meeting at a central spine, and the cap is an anvil shape whose waist comes down over the column head and sits between the fins. Dark brown bands run across its top and round its rolled rim.
The cap on the column is an anvil shape. A broad rounded top with a rolled rim overhangs on every side, then the form draws in to a waist that comes down over the head of the column. Amber is the ground colour and dark brown bands sweep across the top and around the rim in irregular runs, wide in places and pinched to a line in others, so no two caps carry the same marking. Small clustered bubbles show in the top face and are characteristic of the material. Against that the metal is the quiet element: a fine unidirectional brush, an olive-dark tone, and four flat fins meeting at a spine, which gives the column a different width from every angle.
It is a floor piece that brings the cap to chest height, where it is looked at rather than down on, and the cruciform plan holds a corner or an alcove without needing a wall behind it. It does not want a crowded floor: the fins carry the form, and they are lost against skirting boards and furniture legs. Leave clear floor round it and bring light in from one side, so that the fins throw their shadows across one another.
The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. The metal finish is the first choice: the brushed olive tone as described, a plain satin, or a darker patinated finish, all on the same profile. The resin is the second. Amber with brown banding is standard, and a smoke grey, a bottle green and a plain uncoloured cap are all made, with the banding kept light or left out entirely. A companion piece, a resin lens resting on a flat metal plate, is sold separately. The column and the cap travel as separate items in one consignment and are brought together on site, the cap locating over the column head under its own weight with no fixing. The column is a two-person lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Anyone drawn to a poured cap on brushed metal will find more of that pairing among our metal sculptures, and more free-formed silhouettes like it in our abstract sculptures and our organic sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
