Amber Red Graded Ribbon on Marble Resin Sculpture, 110cm, a wavy resin ribbon shifting from red to amber to yellow on a black marble base, shown on a plain light background.
Amber Red Graded Ribbon on Marble Resin Sculpture - 110cm $2,15800
Description

A ribbon of resin that runs from a deep red at one end, through amber, to yellow at the other. At the red end it lies low and flat, like a tongue of flame; it rolls over into a tight curl, sinks into a long yellow trough and then sweeps up into a tall crest that clears to colourless at its tip. The block beneath is black marble, well inside the span of the casting above it.

From a Red Tongue to a Yellow Crest

Running a colour along a form tells the eye where to begin, and on this ribbon the shading and the shape say the same thing. The densest red is kept where the band hugs the surface; amber arrives as the ribbon turns over on itself; and the yellow rises with the final sweep and thins to nothing at the point, so the tint fades exactly as the form climbs into the light. Read that way, the piece is one movement from weight to air, with the turn as the beat in the middle of it.

It wants a console or a long table and should be seen from the long side. Because the block is far narrower than the casting, both ends reach well out over the surface and need a clear run: this is not a piece for the corner of a crowded sideboard. Light from behind fires the yellow end and leaves the red reading as a dark mass, which is the order the piece is built to be read in.

The Run, the Crest, and Delivery

Bespoke commissions take 5–6 weeks; standard pieces take 3–4. The run from red to yellow is reversed, the crest is drawn higher, and the block is cut at other sizes. Other spans of ribbon are made against this stone, and the crest is drawn up further or brought almost level with the body. A single tint is made and removes the direction the run of colour gives it. Stone and casting arrive in their own boxes, and the casting is taken at the middle and not at a crest. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A ribbon run end to end in colour is organic sculpture; the tint lives in resin sculpture; and a piece this long wants indoor sculpture placing.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
