Amber Jade Effect Pierced Disc & Brass Birds Resin Sculpture - 40cm
Amber Jade Effect Pierced Disc & Brass Birds Resin Sculpture - 40cm $2,36200
Description

A pierced disc with the circle cut out of its middle, in a honey jade-effect material with red branching drawn across the bottom half. A brass bird stands in the opening and a second on the brushed brass beneath, both long-legged and turned inward. The brushed brass beneath is part of the piece, and there is no other stand.

The Birds Are What Set the Scale

Two birds on a ring is a scale decision before it is a decorative one. The disc itself says nothing about how big anything is: a pierced circle could be a coin or a gateway, and until something recognisable stands against it the eye has no way to choose. Put a wading bird in the opening and the ring becomes a sky and the red branching becomes a reed bed, all at once and without a word. Which is why the birds are drawn small against the opening rather than filling it. A bird at half the height of that circle would make the disc a hoop and the piece an ornament of a bird; at this size it makes the disc a distance.

It asks to be seen at eye level and square on, since the birds are cut-outs and vanish edge on. At 40cm a console, a shelf at standing height or a hall table all work, with a plain ground behind so the opening reads as a shape and not as a hole onto wallpaper. The jade effect wants a light set behind the ring or well to one side; straight frontal light flattens it to a flat honey circle and the branching stops separating from the body.

The Ring, the Birds, and Delivery

Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The birds are set to other positions before packing or supplied as one rather than two, the branching is drawn heavier or left off, and the ring is cast at other diameters. A colourless body is offered and turns the piece graphic rather than mineral, which suits a modern room and loses the reference. The brass is also made in a darker patina. It is sent in one box with the birds packed separately and the ring bedded on its face, and one person lifts it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A disc borrowed from jade is classic sculpture; the two birds are metal sculpture; and a piece with this much detail is indoor sculpture work.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
