A faceted body rising from a narrow foot and splaying at the top, standing on a satin gold cylinder almost as tall as the casting it carries. Amber at the foot lifts to a pale yellow at the top, so the piece lightens as it rises. An electroplated stainless steel column in a brushed gold finish is supplied, and it is very nearly as tall as the casting standing on it.
Setting the same kind of body on a plated metal column rather than stone makes the support part of the composition instead of something the piece merely stands on. Most pieces of this kind sit on stone that is meant to disappear. Here the column is finished in a brushed, satin gold and is half the height of the piece, so it is part of what is being looked at. The column is metal and the body is resin, and the join is the one place where two materials have to agree about a flat plane. The casting is polished and the column brushed to a satin gold, so the piece has two different kinds of shine stacked on one another.
A hall, a foyer or a wide landing, where the column is read as part of the work rather than as what holds it up. Plain behind it. The satin gold column softens whatever is behind it into a warm sheen. Light from above runs down the column and lifts the amber; from below it does neither. From the door the column registers before the casting does, which is unusual and is why this one stands on metal at all.
Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The column is plated in another finish, the amber is deepened, and the casting is cut down against it. Change the plating and the amber has to be re-chosen, because the two are seen in one glance. Column and casting travel apart and are married on site, the column levelled first. Two people. The plated surface marks, and it should be handled gloved until it is standing. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A faceted amber form raised on a metal column belongs with our metal sculptures; the amber-to-yellow body joins our resin sculptures, and more for a foyer is in our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
