A ball of amber resin, darkest at the outer skin and paling to cream inside each scoop where the material thins. The pair of hollows wrap one another across a single wall, and at this diameter that wall is what the eye reads first. Black marble beneath gives the amber something dark to rest against, and the marble block comes with it.
At this size the cut reads clearly and is demanding to make. The wall between the two scoops is the only structure in the object and it scales down faster than the ball does, so at this diameter it is close to the thinnest section the material will hold while the piece is still setting. Drawn any lighter it distorts as it cures; drawn heavier it stops the light and the two hollows stop answering one another. The amber is chosen to suit that wall rather than the other way round.
At 46cm it sits on furniture rather than on the floor, and it belongs where it will be looked at from a seat: a low table between chairs, a sideboard, or a shelf at about chest level. The cream inside the scoops only reads from in front, so it wants a position with one clear approach rather than a spot to be walked around. Light from the side is worth more than light from above, which flattens the graded skin into a single tone.
Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The amber is lifted to honey, the outer skin is left lighter, and the stone beneath is made in other proportions. Other diameters of the same ball are made, and the stone under it is drawn thicker or thinner to set how much of the total height belongs to the casting. A tint run right through gives a different object again, since a single strength of colour removes the difference between the skin and the scoop that this piece is built on. The two parts share a case with the stone packed apart, and the casting is light enough for one person to handle. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
The turning cut is organic sculpture; amber this clear belongs with resin sculpture; and a piece at desk size is indoor sculpture by definition.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
