Amber Curled Shell Resin Sculpture on Black Plinth - 133cm, a spiraled amber-orange resin form atop a tall black square plinth, shown against a plain light grey background.
Amber Curled Shell Resin Sculpture on Black Plinth - 133cm $3,24100
Description

A rounded shell of clear amber resin, its broad lip curling over the top and down one side while a narrower flange folds inward at the other. Inside, ridged bands spiral round the hollow like the whorl of a sea shell, catching the light at every turn. The amber runs from a bright gold where the resin is thin to a deep red-orange through the thickest parts of the curl. A tall, square column of black marble carries it, and comes with the shell.

A Spiral Whorl Inside a Curling Amber Lip

A shell form lives or dies by the spiral inside it, and here the ridged bands are deep enough to read from across a room. They wind inward from the curling lip, each ridge carrying a line of highlight and each trough a band of darker colour, so the hollow seems to turn even when the piece is still. Its glassy polish, inside and out, lets light pass through the thinner walls and pool as gold while the heavy outer curl stays a saturated red-orange. Below it the marble is cut as a plain square column with a polished top, a dark mirror that catches the amber from beneath.

At 133cm overall the shell sits a little under eye level for most adults, so it belongs on the floor, in an entrance hall, on a stair landing or beside a reception counter, where people pass close by. Daylight from a window to one side, or a spotlight from above, drives light into the spiral and makes the ridges glow. A pale or neutral wall keeps the black plinth crisp and the amber vivid, and the piece rewards being walked round, since the curl and the whorl show differently from each side.

Amber Depth, the Marble Column and Shipping

Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. The resin can be tinted deeper towards red or paler towards honey, or cast clear so that the spiral reads in highlights alone, and the column can come in a white or grey stone instead, or be cut to another height. The shell can also be scaled to suit a grand hall or a narrow alcove, with its spiral kept in proportion. Shell and column travel in separate crates, and the shell is lifted with both hands beneath its rounded belly, never by the lip or the inward fold. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Spiral ridges wound inside a curling amber lip, high on black marble, connect this shell with our resin sculptures, our organic sculptures and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
