Amber Crazed Web Vessel Resin & Metal Sculpture - 58cm
Amber Crazed Web Vessel Resin & Metal Sculpture - 58cm $2,09100
Description

A long, shallow vessel narrowing to a point at each end, carried clear of the table on a lattice of black metal bars set beneath the middle of its hull. The amber wall is crinkled all over and crossed by fine, darker crack lines, all of it seen through a smooth, glassy outer face, while the inside is a pale, pearly lining crinkled in relief. The black metal lattice comes with it.

A Pattern Under a Smooth Surface

A crazed web is only worth having if it survives being looked at closely, and most ways of making one do not. Outside, this one lies beneath a smooth, glassy face, so the crinkle and its fine crack lines are protected by the surface instead of waiting on it to be worn away. Inside, the pale lining is left crinkled in relief, and the light catches every ridge of it in a small white point. From the side the vessel reads as warm amber behind a clear face, and from above as a cool, pearly hollow, and the two views never quite agree.

Its place is a sideboard or a long console, used or left empty. The lattice is busy enough on its own, so keep whatever is behind it quiet. Light through the wall throws the web onto the surface beneath, and the lattice adds its own bars to the same shadow. From the door it is a long low curve on a dark grid, and the web only arrives as you approach.

Drawing the Web Finer, and Delivery

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The web is drawn closer, the amber is run toward green, and the lattice is finished brushed rather than black. Take the web closer and its crack lines multiply across the amber, so from across a room the wall reads as an even shimmer. Lattice and vessel share a crate, wrapped apart, and the amber hull is raised from beneath at both ends, never by its rim or its points. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

For an amber vessel crinkled beneath a glassy face and raised on black bars, browse our organic sculptures, our metal sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
