Amber Crazed Web Boat Vessel Resin Sculpture, 55cm, boat-shaped amber resin with dark crazed web texture on a brushed steel arch base, shown on a plain white background.
Amber Crazed Web Boat Vessel Resin Sculpture - 55cm $1,88800
Description

A deep boat of a vessel in amber resin, open along its length and lifted clear of the table by two short posts that rise from a slim arch of brushed stainless steel. The whole wall is crazed with a fine, dark web, and the amber between its lines catches the light cell by cell. The arch, in a warm bronze tone, is included in the price and travels with the vessel.

When the Pattern Becomes the Subject

A vessel this size is close enough to read, so the pattern becomes the subject and the curve carries it. Because it can be picked up, it is made to be read in the hand as well as on a table, and the web is drawn fine enough to hold together at arm's length. The crazing is scaled to the vessel, fine enough that the whole wall reads as one surface rather than as separate panels. A high polish goes over the web, and at this scale the dark lines read closer to a texture than to a drawing.

A side table or a kitchen island suits this size, where it can be picked up. Keep whatever is behind it plain, as the web is already doing the work of a pattern. Light through the wall casts the web onto the table, which is what this size is for. At this size almost nothing carries across a room, and everything arrives at the table.

Where the Web Stops, and How It Travels

Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The web is left off part of the wall, the amber is taken toward green, and the arch is made at other heights. Take the web off part of the wall and the rest is redrawn, so that the pattern ends somewhere deliberate. It arrives in one crate with the arch packed beside the vessel, and the vessel is lifted with both hands under the hull, never by the rim or by the two posts. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

An amber vessel crazed with a fine dark web and raised on a steel arch is part of our stainless steel sculptures, our organic sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
