Amber Crackled Boat Vessel on a Metal Stand Resin Sculpture, 160cm, crescent-shaped with orange crackle veining and gold flecks, on a black metal base against a plain white background.
Amber Crackled Boat Vessel on a Metal Stand Resin Sculpture - 160cm $12,14200
Description

A crescent-shaped boat vessel in amber resin, cast hollow, its two ends swept up to points. The amber runs deepest at the ends and in a band beneath the rim, while the lower middle of the wall clears to a pale, frosted band; a fine crackle of orange lines, like the cracks in old ice, crosses the walls, and gold-toned flakes are caught among the veins through the pale band. It is held up on two slim black posts rising from a flat metal plate.

An Amber Crescent Crossed by Fine Cracks

The amber is the heart of this piece, and it is placed to frame the vessel: deep and saturated at the two swept-up ends and in a band under the rim, so the outline of the crescent glows, and pale through the lower middle, where the crackle shows most clearly. The veins are drawn finely across the walls and branch like twigs through the pale band, where the gold-toned flakes sit among them, and a fine gold-toned dust runs along the inside of the rim. The posts are slim and set well in from the ends, which lets the crescent's two points sweep up free, and the plate below keeps the stand steady and plain.

A console, a sideboard or a credenza will take it, placed so the whole crescent is seen from the side and the pale band faces the room. A window behind it makes the amber at the ends blaze, and light from the front picks out the flakes among the veins. On a dark surface the posts almost disappear and the vessel seems to float. It sits naturally beside timber, leather and brass.

Tint, Crackle and the Stand Beneath

From order, a standard piece runs to 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission to 5–6. The resin can be tinted green, blue, red or smoke instead of amber, the crackle drawn finer or bolder, and the gold-toned flakes left out for a plainer band; the posts and plate can take a brass-toned or brushed silver finish in place of black. One long crate takes the vessel, the stand packed on its own beside it, and the vessel is carried level, supported beneath its keel along its length, never by the pointed ends. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Glowing amber lifted on slender black posts over a plate draws this crescent into our metal sculptures, our contemporary and modern sculptures and our organic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
