A rough slab of cast resin standing on one long edge, pitted over its whole outside and pierced right through in two places. Amber at the outside edges deepens to rust toward the middle, so the slab reads darkest wherever there is most of it. Nothing comes under it; the slab stands on the edge it was cast with.
Coarse and transparent are difficult neighbours. A rough face throws light back before it can reach the mass, so the deeper the pitting goes the darker the body reads, and neither can be settled on its own. The two holes are not the same size and are not opposite one another, so from most angles you see through one and past the other, and only from directly in front do both open at once. The pitting goes into the mass rather than sitting on it, and the two holes worked through the slab have the same coarse wall as the outside. Left rough over the whole outside, with the pitting deep enough to hold a shadow at any angle.
A desk, a shelf or a hall table, where the holes can be looked through. A pale ground behind, since the holes will frame whatever is there. Light from behind comes through the two holes and through the thinnest part of the mass, and nowhere else. The outline and the two holes are what carry; the pitting is entirely a close matter.
Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. More holes or fewer are worked, the surface is smoothed, and the rust is taken toward brown. Smooth the surface and the colour reads darker, because the pitting was scattering light out of the mass. How many holes and where they fall is open, and so is how far the pitting is taken, though the two are decided together rather than one after the other. One piece in a fitted crate, bedded on the standing edge. One person, though it is dense and wants both hands. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
More rough-surfaced forms like this pierced slab are found among our organic sculptures, with further amber and rust castings in our resin sculptures and pieces sized for a shelf in our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
