Amber & Mustard Scroll Arm Acrylic Tub Armchair, 98cm, with translucent amber shell, mustard velvet cushion, and chrome sled legs on a plain white background.
Amber & Mustard Scroll Arm Acrylic Tub Armchair - 98cm $5,60300
Description

A broad, low tub armchair in translucent amber acrylic. Its shell climbs to full height across the back, then sweeps forward along each side and curls over on itself to form the arms. The seat holds a deep cushion and a long back bolster, both in mustard velvet, and polished chrome sleds run beneath. Through the amber, the outline of the velvet shows as a soft warm shape.

A Warm Amber Shell Over Mustard Velvet

Matching amber to mustard is the delicate part, because the two colours sit side by side and either can drown out the other, so the tint of the shell is chosen against a cutting of the velvet before anything is formed. Each curled arm must hold the same wall through its turn, since a thin spot in translucent amber shows as a pale streak, and both are finished by hand so the chair looks the same from either side. The chrome sleds are polished to a bright finish that takes up the amber above them.

Low and broad, the chair sits happily beside something tall, a bookcase or a long window, and two of them facing each other across a low table make a place to talk. The amber and mustard warm a room of white walls and pale timber, and on a bright morning the shell glows like a glass of tea held up to a window.

Shell Tint, Velvet and the Chrome Sleds

Making a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks, and making a bespoke one 5–6. The shell can be made darker toward cognac or lighter toward honey, and the velvet chosen in another colour, rust, olive or ivory among them, or in a plain weave. The sleds can be finished dark instead of chrome, and the curled arms rolled tighter or opened out. It is delivered with the sleds fixed on site beneath the shell, and two people should carry the shell itself. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Amber curled over mustard velvet belongs with our acrylic sculptures; polished chrome sleds under a broad tub lead to our metal sculptures, and two chairs facing across a low table join our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
