A single fold closing over on itself into a hood, amber at the foot and pale grey by the crown, cut flat beneath. Amber at the foot clearing to a pale grey at the crown, with the hood the palest part of it. No base is supplied. The foot is cut level and the piece rests on whatever it is put on.
At this size a frosted surface is what stops a clear casting reading as a paperweight, because there is not enough depth in it to do the work any other way. On an object this small there is not enough material in a clear casting to produce depth by thickness alone, so the frosting does it instead: the hood keeps a shadow the body could not, and without that it would be a paperweight. A single fold means the material is thickest exactly where the colour is deepest, so the two readings never contradict one another. Frosted over the whole surface, which at this size is what stops it reading as a paperweight.
It suits a night stand, a shelf of books or the corner of a writing desk. A pale ground behind it, so the grey at the crown has somewhere to go. Light from one side fills the hood and leaves the outside of the fold dark, which is the whole of it. It is a near object entirely, and nothing about it is meant to carry across a room.
Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. Say the word and the fold is opened, another tint is run through it, or it is made at another height. Open the fold and the hood stops holding a shadow, which is what gives a piece this small its depth. Of the three variations offered, the fold is the one that alters the object itself rather than its finish, since the hood and the shadow it keeps are the whole of the design at a size this small. One small crate and nothing at all to do on site. One person, one hand, and it is the only thing here that can be said of. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A frosted fold closing over into a hood belongs to our organic sculptures; its amber foot clearing to grey joins our resin sculptures, and it is met a step away, the distance it is drawn for, among our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
