Amber & Gold Hooked Scoop on Marble Resin Sculpture - 50cm
Amber & Gold Hooked Scoop on Marble Resin Sculpture - 50cm $2,17000
Description

A scooped curl of polished resin: at one end a crest of clear honey-amber rises and hooks over at the top, and from it the form sweeps down and round into an open bowl that lifts to a rounded point at the other end. Crackled gold-toned flakes are laid thickly over the outside of the bowl and up the back of the crest, broken by clear gaps, while the inner sweep is left entirely clear. A low black marble block comes with it.

A Gold-Flaked Bowl Beneath a Clear Amber Hook

Flakes laid over a transparent body are a decision about what to hide and what to leave open. Worked thickly over the outer face of the bowl, they turn it into a broken, glittering shell, and the clear inner sweep, left without a single flake, becomes the place where the eye looks through the piece. Up the back of the crest the flakes thin out and stop short of its top, so the hook finishes in clear honey-amber. The gaps between the flakes keep the gold from reading as one flat surface: the amber shows through them, and their broken edges give the colour something to sit against.

A console, a cabinet top or a broad shelf suits it, read from the front with the hooked crest and the open bowl side by side. Warm light flatters it more than cool: under a daylight lamp the gold looks cold and the amber behind it loses its warmth. It also wants a position where it is seen from close at least sometimes, since the crackle in the flakes is what gives them their life, and at a distance the bowl reads simply as warm gold.

The Gold, the Amber, and Delivery

It takes 3–4 weeks to make as standard, and 5–6 weeks to make bespoke. Red can take the place of the amber, or the body can be cast clear, which changes what the gold sits against, and the gold-toned flakes can be laid in looser patches or left out. The black marble block can be made in white. The scoop can also be made at another span, with the crest and the bowl kept in proportion. Scoop and block travel in two boxes, the stone in its own, and the scoop is raised by the bowl, never by the crest. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A clear inner sweep inside a gold-flaked amber shell gives this scoop its place among our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
