Amber & Cream Twisting Figure Resin Sculpture, 69cm, with amber edges and a cream body on a black marble base, set against a plain white background.
Amber & Cream Twisting Figure Resin Sculpture - 69cm $1,68700
Description

A figure turning twice, amber deep along every edge and cream through the body, the two meeting at each change of direction, on black marble. Amber deep at the edges and cream through the body, so the two tones meet along every turn. A shallow square of black marble is included beneath it.

Two Tones Meeting Along Every Fold

Two tones meeting along a fold is what makes a transparent material read as a solid, and it is the one treatment here that does not depend on light passing through. Its blue sibling is transparent and is therefore read as a depth. A cream body is not, so this one arrives as a solid thing turning, and the amber along its folds is read as an edge rather than as an accumulation. An amber edge against a cream body means the material shows its thickness at every fold, and the piece is read as a solid turning rather than as a transparent one. Polished throughout, which is what keeps the cream reading as cream instead of as a frosted white.

A sideboard or a hall table, set with one turn toward the room rather than square on. A dark ground behind it. A cream body against a pale wall loses its outline entirely. Light from one side is what parts the amber edge from the cream behind it; flat light closes them together. The turn reads from across a room and the meeting of the two colours is a near fact.

Clearing the Cream, and One Crate

Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. Ask us for a wider twist, for either tone to be exchanged, or for the figure at another height. Swap the cream for a clearing tone and the figure stops reading as solid, so the twist is opened to keep it legible. One crate, the marble packed beneath, and it goes together without tools. Two people. It is heavier than it looks and the turn is where a hand slips. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

An amber-edged figure turning twice belongs to our organic sculptures; its cream body meeting the amber at every fold joins our resin sculptures, and a passage where it is walked past suits its turn among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
