A narrow body twisting the whole way up with amber and colourless alternating along the twist, on a block of black marble. Amber and colourless alternate along the twist, so the colour climbs the piece rather than sitting in it. A block of black marble is supplied beneath the column.
A column this slender and this tall has almost no plan to be read from, so everything it does has to happen up its length. Alternating the colour along a twist gives the height a scale it would not otherwise have: the turns can be counted from across a room, and a column that would read as a post becomes something with a measurable rhythm in it. Amber arriving and leaving along a twist makes the height readable: you can count the turns by the colour without following the form at all, which on so narrow a form is the only way the piece is legible from a distance. Polished the whole way up, with the twist kept crisp so the alternation stays sharp.
It needs a corner, a hall, or the side of a stair, where height is available and width is not. Pale and plain. A narrow piece against a busy wall disappears into it. A downlight follows the twist and makes the amber passages glow in sequence. At room distance the alternation is what is seen, and it does more than the form alone would at this width.
In the workshop a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The twist can be tightened, the amber can be run continuously, and the piece can be made at other heights. Run the amber continuously and the turns stop being countable, which is what currently gives a narrow column its scale. It travels on its side in one crate and is raised into position after unpacking. Two people at this height, both at the block, keeping it vertical. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Slender columns twisting in amber and clear continue in our organic sculptures; the alternating casting belongs to our resin sculptures, and pieces for a narrow space are in our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
