Amber & Black Tipped Cradle Resin Sculpture - 36cm, curved crescent form in amber-orange, black, and yellow-streaked resin, shown on a plain white background.
Amber & Black Tipped Cradle Resin Sculpture - 36cm $2,09300
Description

This round cradle of amber-orange resin swings down into a broad belly and rises at either end into a horn that curls in on itself. At one end the horn and the wall below it darken to a near-black brown like the shell of a roasted chestnut, while at the other the horn burns orange, streaked red-brown across its inner face. Low in the flank on that side the amber brightens to a golden yellow, so the colour travels from gold through orange to almost black around the sweep.

Gold, Orange and Near-Black Around One Sweep

The tint is spread through the full body of the resin, so the tones shift from gold to near-black as the eye follows the sweep. Fine red-brown streaks drift up the inner face of the orange horn like smoke in a glass, and the golden yellow pools in the flank beneath it. Across the belly the amber turns towards rust before it gathers into the near-black of the far horn, which stays translucent enough to show a brown glow at its edges in strong light. A deep, wet-looking gloss covers every surface.

It rests on its own rounded belly, so a desk, a sideboard or a broad shelf will take it without any stand. Warm light suits it best: a side lamp draws out the gold and the orange, while the dark horn holds its own against a pale wall. On walnut or oak the amber looks richer still, and with a bright window behind it the whole sweep glows. Turn it to show whichever horn suits the room, the dark one or the orange.

The Amber Cradle, Changes and Its Journey

Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. Your order is for one amber cradle, sold individually. As a commission the orange horn can be given a near-black tip to match the other, the amber taken towards honey or towards a deeper copper, and the whole cradle made again in another size, its tips kept in proportion. It is packed in one box with foam bedded under the belly and around each horn, and it should come out held by the body, never by a tip. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Amber resin that runs from gold round to near-black in one open cradle is gathered with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
