Description

A windblown figure cast in resin, standing well above table height, with the skirt carried down the whole length and the flare thrown clear above the shoulders. Yellow through the body with a dark brown drawn down the skirt, the paler shade meeting the darker along a single edge. Its base, in black marble, comes with it.

Part Window and Part Wall

Two colours share the body: a clear yellow, and a brown dense enough to read as solid where it runs down the skirt. Setting the one against the other gives a figure that is half lit and half solid, and walking round it exchanges which half is which. Yellow passes light and brown stops it, which is why the body reads as part window and part wall, and the clear passages shift as you move round it. Polished all over, with the boundary between the two tones left hard.

It suits a hall or a landing, where it is seen from more than one approach. A pale plain wall behind it. Brown against a brown ground puts half the figure into it. Daylight behind it lights the yellow and leaves the brown as drawing, which is the arrangement the piece is built for. From a distance the dark passage is what registers; the yellow arrives second and the figure itself last.

Carrying the Brown Further, and Getting It In

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The brown can be carried further round, a third tone introduced, and the design is cut at several other sizes. Run the brown further and the transparent passage shrinks, which is the whole of what this version has that its siblings do not. How far the brown is carried round the body can be specified, and whatever it gains comes out of the transparent passage, since the two share one body between them. One crate, and two people are wanted at this height. Two people at the foot, keeping the piece upright throughout. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Yellow and brown meeting along one hard edge give this figure its character among our resin sculptures; its windswept drawing belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures, and it joins the large figures of our indoor sculptures.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
