White Leaf Dish on Metal Feet Resin Sculpture - 70cm, elongated white leaf-shaped dish on dark metal feet with a connecting bar, shown on a plain light grey background.
White Leaf Dish on Metal Feet Resin Sculpture - 70cm $2,09100
Description

A long white dish shaped like a leaf, pointed at one end and rounded at the other, carried low on two dark metal feet, a narrow upright and a flared plate, joined by one long bar beneath the keel. The body is barely dished at all, so the surface catches one continuous gradient of light rather than breaking into highlights, and the shadow beneath is part of what the piece does.

Lifting It Is What Makes It a Sculpture

Lifting a flat dish off the surface on two feet is what turns it from tableware into a sculpture. On the surface it is a tray; a few centimetres up, with a shadow under it, the leaf shape reads as a plane held in the air and the underside becomes part of the object. The feet are drawn narrow and dark against a white body for the same reason, and the one bar that joins them runs low under the keel, so the whole support reads as a line beneath the dish rather than as furniture. What makes the white work is that there is almost no dish in it, so light runs across the face in one sweep instead of breaking into highlights.

A console, a sideboard or a kitchen island takes it, and it wants a surface it can throw a shadow onto: on a dark or busy surface the gap under it closes up and the dish reads as a tray. It is a sculpture rather than tableware and is not made for food. Lit from above and a little to one side it throws the cleanest shadow and the most even gradient across the white.

The Feet, the White, and Delivery

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. The feet are made in other metals, the dish is cast at other lengths, and a tint is run into the white. Other lengths of dish are made for the same feet, and the feet are drawn deeper where more shadow is wanted. Tinted, the body works differently, since the white is what makes a single gradient legible across a surface this large. The dish is always raised by its long edges, never by its pointed end or by the feet. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A white leaf of resin carried low on two slim dark feet has a place among our art furniture, our metal sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
