The Traditional Labrador Retriever Dog Bronze Sculpture stands at 80cm and captures the classic gundog pointing stance with a precision that rewards close attention. One front leg is raised and tucked, the tail extends horizontally, the head tilts forward with alert focus, and the mouth rests slightly open, tongue just visible. It is a composition built entirely on anatomical truth.
This sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost-wax method, a process that preserves every surface detail from the modeller's original. The visible ribcage, the definition across the shoulder and haunch, the individual texture of the coat and the fine articulation of each paw and claw are all transferred with complete fidelity through the casting process. The surface carries a warm rich brown patina with darker tonal depth in the recessed areas, drawing out the musculature and giving the piece a presence that reads equally well in natural and artificial light. The result is a life-size bronze dog statue of genuine weight and authority at 180kg.
The sculpture stands without a plinth, resting directly on its own paws, which makes placement highly flexible. It suits a flagstone terrace, a formal entrance hall, a library, a boot room, or a garden setting with clipped hedging as a backdrop. The warm brown tones sit comfortably against stone, aged brick, dark timber, and pale render alike. Suited equally to indoor and outdoor installation, the dense bronze casting withstands weather without deterioration in finish.
We offer a range of patina finishes beyond the standard warm brown, including verde green, dark espresso, and natural weathered tones. The sculpture can also be produced at a larger or smaller scale to suit a specific setting. If you have a particular breed variant or pose in mind, our studio team can discuss a fully bespoke commission inspired by your brief.
