Teal Segmented Cut Sphere Resin Sculpture, 63cm, with a lens-shaped cutout revealing an inner form, on a black marble base, plain white background.
Teal Segmented Cut Sphere Resin Sculpture - 63cm $5,33500
Description

A sphere of deep teal resin set on a two-tier black marble base, which comes with it. A tall, lens-shaped opening is cut through it from top to bottom, leaving the outer shell as a pair of thick curved bands like the segments of a globe, and in the opening an inner lens-shaped form turns to face you. The teal is dense and glassy, deepest where the shell is fullest.

A Teal Globe Opened Along Its Length

Cutting into a sphere shows what it is made of, and in teal resin the answer is depth: the cut faces are flat and polished, so they read as panes of colour, while the rounded outer bands carry the colour darker. The opening is drawn as a tall, pointed lens, which makes the cut look deliberate and precise rather than broken, and the inner form repeats that lens in the space it leaves. The two-tier base is small and dark, so the globe seems to hover above it.

At 63cm it sits well on a wide shelf or a desk in an office, or on a sideboard in a living room, where it is seen from the front and the opening can be looked into. Light from behind or from one side fills the teal and makes the cut faces glow. It pairs well with pale stone and dark wood, and it holds its own among books.

The Teal, the Cut and Its Carton

From order, a standard piece runs to 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission to 5–6. It can be made in amber, red, blue or clear resin as well as this teal, and the opening can be cut wider or narrower. A clear sphere shows the cut faces as panes of light, while a strong colour turns them into windows of it. It is packed in a padded crate on its base, and two people lift it out together and settle it on its surface. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A teal globe opened along its length belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures; teal resin cut into glowing panes leads to our resin sculptures, and a sphere for a study sideboard joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
