A display cover: a closed box of smoked grey glass with an open base, made to stand over a piece and keep dust and hands away from it while it stays in full view. It is a long, low box, suited to a piece that runs wide rather than tall. The glass is a light smoke rather than a dark tint, so what is under it keeps its own colour.
A cover has one job, to protect without hiding, and the smoke in the glass is the choice that decides how well it does it. Clear glass reflects the room so strongly that the piece beneath can disappear behind the reflections; a light smoke cuts the reflections back and lets the eye pass through to what is inside. The panels meet at plain square edges with no frame, so the cover reads as one volume of glass. The base is left open, so it lifts straight off.
Stand it over a piece on a sideboard, a console or a display cabinet, anywhere a sculpture or an object needs protecting from a busy room. A pale wall behind it keeps the smoked glass from going dark. Light from above falls through the top panel on to whatever is inside. From across the room it reads as a soft grey volume, and what it covers is seen clearly as soon as you are near.
The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. You settle three things at the order. It can be made to another size to fit a particular piece, the smoke can be deepened or taken back to clear glass, and it can be made upright, higher than it is wide, for a standing object. A deeper tint gives more privacy to what is inside and less of it on view. It travels in a padded crate, and it is lowered over its piece with a hand at each end. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A plain box of smoked glass made to cover and show a piece belongs with our art furniture, our geometric sculptures and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
