This armchair is a single shell in smoked brown resin: its rounded back sweeps round and down into two low arms, then drops into a scooped seat. Below the seat the shell carries on to the floor as a curved skirt, open across the front and cut into a wide arch at the back, which leaves a broad panel leg at each side. The chair stands on two faces rather than four legs, and nothing on it reads as an added part.
Back, arms, seat and both panel legs are finished as one surface, and there is no joint anywhere on it. Getting an even tint through a shape that changes thickness at the arms and again at the panel legs is the slow part, and the arch under the seat is cut and polished afterwards. The smoke is in the material. The colour is stronger through the arms and paler across the open back. Every edge of the panel legs is eased by hand, so the shell carries no sharp arris anywhere along it.
At 70cm to the top of its back this is a low occasional armchair rather than a dining seat, and it suits a bedroom corner, a study, a dressing room or a wide landing. The panel legs mean it sits solidly on a soft floor, and the arch under the seat is worth leaving visible, so it is better standing free than pushed into a corner.
Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. Most of it is the moulded shell. Three points are open. The tint can be taken deeper or lightened, it can be supplied in another colour entirely, and the arch between the panel legs can be widened or closed to a solid face. You give the seat height and the back height. The depth of the smoke through the shell is common to a single order and particular to it. With the arm tops and the two panel legs crated clear, two people can bring it in. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
One smoked shell curling from rim to floor sends this armchair to our contemporary and modern sculptures, gives it a deep seat among our art furniture, and files it for living rooms under our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
