Smoked Amber Medallion Back Cast Resin Dining Chair - 87cm
Smoked Amber Medallion Back Cast Resin Dining Chair - 87cm $3,03700
Description

Smoked amber is the colour of this dining chair, a translucent grey-brown through which the floor and the wall stay visible. Its back is a single bent hoop, and an oval medallion hangs within it, standing clear of the hoop all the way round so that a thin line of light outlines it. The round seat rests on four legs, straight at the front and swept back behind.

Smoked Amber Through a Hooped Medallion Back

A smoked tint changes how the form reads. Where a brighter colour glows, smoked amber gathers into darker lines wherever the resin thickens, so the rim of the seat, the tops of the legs and the edge of the medallion are drawn in a deeper brown while the thin hoop stays pale. The medallion is cast as its own piece and kept apart from the hoop, and from an angle it separates from the hoop and the back becomes two outlines rather than one. Every part is translucent, and the quiet colour lets the chair sit in a room without announcing itself.

At 87cm it sits at a dining table or a desk, and its narrow frame keeps a set of chairs from filling the room. The smoked colour suits oak, walnut and stone, and it holds its own against a dark floor where a pale tint would vanish. Side light brings out the line around the medallion. Indoor use only.

The Tint, the Medallion and a Matched Set

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. The smoke can be deepened towards a near-black or lifted to a light champagne, and the medallion can be left out for an open hoop or filled to close the back. A set ordered together is poured in one session so the tint holds from chair to chair, and the seat height is set to suit your table. A tint can also be matched to a sample you send, and a pair can be made as a carver and a side chair. They are crated in pairs, and each chair is a one-person lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Dining chairs cast as sculpture are found in our art furniture, this smoked colour with our resin sculptures, and the hooped back among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
