This cast resin low table pairs a knife-edged top with a solid wedge. The top is an ellipse with a knife edge, dished away in the middle so the centre sits beneath the level of the rim, and it is thin enough that the edge reads as a line. It rests off centre on a solid wedge whose long face rises from the floor to a blunt point at one end. Both parts are colourless resin with a grey drift through the thickest sections, and because the wedge is asymmetric the whole piece looks as though the top has been set down and left where it landed.
The top is the demanding part of this piece. It is an ellipse, dished across the middle so the centre sits beneath the level of the rim, and taken to a knife edge all the way round, thin enough that the edge reads as a drawn line rather than a face. That edge runs unbroken with no flat or waver in it. The wedge beneath is the opposite kind of object: a solid asymmetric mass rising from the floor to a blunt point at one end, and through its deepest part a grey drift shows where the sightline is longest. The top sits off centre on the wedge, which is a placed decision rather than a tolerance, and the two surfaces meet flush without packing between them.
It belongs at the centre of a group of seats, and its asymmetry gives it a better side. Turn the point of the wedge into the room rather than into a sofa and the whole piece opens up. The knife edge is the detail to protect, so it wants a position where nobody walks past it in the dark. The grey drift in the wedge reads best with light coming from one side rather than overhead. A plain floor serves it. It is heavy and awkward to lift. Indoors only.
Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The wedge base is the slow part. Three points are open. The top can be supplied as a true ellipse or as a rounder oval, the wedge can be cut to a different rake, and either part can be tinted. Where the top sits on the wedge is also open, though moving it far from the balance point is not advisable. Top diameter and overall height are quoted to whatever you need. For a matching group, the smoke in the wedge is set once and carried through it. It ships with the knife edge of the top protected and wants two people to position it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A knife-edged top set off centre on a wedge suits our art furniture; its asymmetry belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures, and as a piece for the home it sits in our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
