Smoke Loop Arm Cast Resin Dining Chair, 81cm, front view on a plain white background with looped arms and splayed legs.
Smoke Loop Arm Cast Resin Dining Chair - 81cm $3,03700
Description

This dining chair is cast in smoke-tinted resin, its shell all of a piece. A tall back rises with a shallow waist and softly rounded top corners, and from each side an arm comes forward as an open loop, curving out and back to meet the seat so there is a hole through each arm. The seat is dished. Four legs splay slightly to the floor. The resin is a smoke grey, deepest where two surfaces meet at the loops and much paler across the open span of the back.

Two Loops Standing In for Arms

The arms are the piece. Each comes forward from the back as an open loop, curving out and back to meet the seat, so there is a hole through the middle of each arm and a sitter's hand rests on a closed curve rather than a rail. Making that in one shell means the section has to run full round both loops with no thin point at the turn. The back is tall with a shallow waist and softly rounded top corners, and the seat is dished between them. The smoke grey sits in the material and follows the geometry: dark at the loops, much paler across the open span of the back.

At 81cm high this runs under a dining table and the loop arms are what decide where it goes. They are open, so whatever stands behind the chair is seen through them, and a plain wall serves it better than a busy one. The smoke tint reads against a pale background and goes to silhouette against a dark one. One person can shift it without help. Indoors.

The Loops, the Tint, and What Can Change

Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The loop arms sets the pace here. There are three open questions. The smoke can be replaced with another tint or left clear, the loops can be drawn tighter or opened out, and the leg splay is adjustable. The seat height is settled at order. Neither the seat height nor the overall height is fixed. The smoke depth through the shell can be carried right through a group ordered in one go. It arrives with the two loop arms and the leg ends boxed off, and two people are wanted to set it down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Open loops for arms mark this dining chair out within our art furniture; the smoke-grey shell also belongs in our contemporary and modern sculptures, and the chair appears again among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
