Description

Smoke grey resin, ribbed from top to toe, makes this tub chair. Close vertical ribs climb the inside of the back and turn out over the rolled rim, where they radiate round the curve, and the same ribbing runs down the skirt below the seat. The seat itself is a smooth round dish with a rail beneath its front edge. Under the rail the skirt opens in a wide arch and stands on outward-flaring feet.

Close Ribbing in Smoke Grey With Charcoal Edges

A grey tint turns the ribbing into something closer to pinstripe than to glitter. Each rib is a fine ridge holding a pale highlight on one side and a dark line on the other, and repeated across the whole back they set up a soft shimmer as you walk past. At the sides of the tub and in the flared feet, where the resin runs thick, the grey closes towards charcoal, and the chair gains a dark outline that keeps it legible against a pale wall. The seat dish is left plain and smooth.

Its rim reaches 78cm, a comfortable height for reading or conversation in a sitting room or a study. Grey sits easily with concrete, oak, linen and black metal, so it suits modern rooms that would find a colour too loud. Side lighting picks out each rib, while light from straight ahead flattens them. Indoors only.

Tint Depth, Rib Spacing and Delivery

As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The smoke can be ordered lighter, close to clear, or darker towards black, and the ribs can be spaced more openly or left off altogether. The tub can be cut shallower for a more upright, dining-style back. Height and plan are made to your figures if needed. It is delivered in one crate, fully finished, and needs two people to manoeuvre it through a door. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
