Smoke Grey & Clear Curved Rail Cast Resin Dining Chair, 75cm, with a curved S-shaped back rail and saddle seat fading from grey to clear, shown on a plain white background.
Smoke Grey & Clear Curved Rail Cast Resin Dining Chair - 75cm $3,10400
Description

This cast dining chair runs from smoke grey to water clear. The back is one shallow rail, wide and gently curved, its lower edge drawn to a soft point at the centre, and each end turns over and down into a slender upright that sweeps in an S-curve to the back of the seat. The seat is a soft saddle tinted a deep smoke grey, darkest along its front edge and corners, and the grey runs on down into the tops of the front legs before clearing at the feet. The back legs are slim and almost clear.

A Smoked Seat That Clears Towards the Feet

Two things carry the chair. The first is what has been left out: there is no back panel, only the rail and the two uprights that hold it, so the wall behind shows between them and the chair keeps a light outline. The second is the smoke in the seat. It is densest along the front edge, where the resin is seen at its full depth, and it runs down into the front legs as a soft fade with no boundary, so the legs seem to grow clear as they reach the floor. The uprights swell where they meet the seat and thin as they rise, catching a bright line of light along each curve. The back legs and the rail stay almost colourless, and against them the grey seat reads as the one solid shape in the chair.

At 75cm it meets a dining table at the usual height, the saddle seat tucking in beneath the top. It suits a dining room or a kitchen, and around a pale table a set of four reads as grey seats floating on clear legs. Its fine outline of rail and uprights is easily lost against a busy pattern, so a plain wall serves it best. The feet want a hard floor. Indoor use only.

How Deep the Rail Runs, and Where the Grey Stops

Order a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. The depth of the rail comes first and it changes the chair completely: shallow as here leaves an open back, and a deeper rail begins to read as a panel with the openings closed. Where the grey stops is second: held in the seat and the tops of the front legs as here, carried right down to the feet, or left out for a chair that is clear throughout. Third is the leg section, from this round through to a square that makes the chair read as a frame. Seat height and overall height are cut to order. Each chair is crated on its own and arrives complete; carrying it in is a job for one. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Smoke grey fading to clear sets this chair among our resin sculptures; the S-curved uprights suit our organic sculptures, and the chair as seating our art furniture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
