Sleeping Infant Relief Grey Stone Memorial - 120cm $20,44100
Description

An ogee-topped tablet with scrolled shoulders carries a relief of a sleeping infant cradled in a feathered wing across the head of the stone. A moulded sub-base sits below it over a rock-faced plinth, with a circular flower socket cut into the left of the sub-base.

Sleeping Infant Cradled in a Carved Wing

The wing is what holds the composition together and it is cut shallower than the infant it cradles, so the child reads forward and the feathers fall back without either being outlined. The whole surface is then worked to an even grey stipple, which softens the relief and is why the piece looks weathered from new. The scrolled shoulders are cut before the relief, working from the outside in.

A broad low tablet is read square on, which suits a children lawn, a small single plot, a cremation section or a bed of remembrance. The socket in the sub-base takes a single flower holder, so leave the left side reachable. The rock-faced plinth needs a level bed under its full width. Check the burial ground rules on shaped tops before you order.

A Broad Face and a Flower Socket

Nine weeks. The tablet is shaped and the shoulders cut before the relief is begun, and the plinth is pitched last so flying chips never reach a finished face. The broad face below the relief is the largest clear area on the piece, reaches you uncut, and takes a name and dates worked to order, or stays plain. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops. Around 1,074kg across three pieces, lifted with a gantry and bedded on a poured concrete foundation.

Relief child memorials are indexed at headstones and memorials, and by stone at marble headstones.

Production Time

Every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of destination.

  • Sculptures under 50cm — shipped by air freight. Typical delivery 1–2 weeks after production is complete.
  • Sculptures 50cm and above — shipped by sea freight. Typical delivery 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

For larger sculptures where faster delivery is needed, air freight is available at additional cost — contact us before ordering for a quote.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

30-Day Returns

We accept 30-day returns on sculptures in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

To start a return, contact us within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is at the customer's cost.

Bespoke and custom-commissioned pieces are non-refundable once production has started, as they are made specifically to your specification.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
