Description

An angel sits on a rectangular chest-form headstone with her head bowed and her hands gathered in her lap around a cluster of carved roses. Her wings sweep up behind her and her gown falls over the front edge of the stone onto the moulded base step below.

The roses are the difficult part, not the figure. They are massed loose in her lap where nothing supports them from beneath, so each bloom is undercut back to a stem and the whole cluster is left until the drapery around it is finished and stable. Her gown is worked over the front arris of the chest so that the seat and the seated figure read as one mass rather than two. The moulded base step beneath the chest is what carries the whole memorial down to the ground.

This is a full monument rather than a lawn marker, and it wants a whole grave plot: a churchyard, a municipal cemetery, a private family enclosure or a walled memorial garden. It reads from the front and from both sides, so leave clear ground around it for maintenance, and check the burial authority limits on height and footprint before ordering.

Choosing the Wording for the Front Panel

Eleven weeks. The chest is cut and its front panel trued flat before the angel is begun, because the lettering goes into that panel later on and it has to be dead flat to take a chisel cleanly. The figure is then taken from one block so the wings need no jointing. The panel comes to you uncut, ready for a name and dates in whichever lettering you settle on, or bare if a mason near you is doing the work, and the roses can be dropped. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops. Around 2,546kg across two pieces, so it is craned into position and bedded on a poured foundation.

Production Time

Every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of destination.

  • Sculptures under 50cm — shipped by air freight. Typical delivery 1–2 weeks after production is complete.
  • Sculptures 50cm and above — shipped by sea freight. Typical delivery 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

For larger sculptures where faster delivery is needed, air freight is available at additional cost — contact us before ordering for a quote.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

30-Day Returns

We accept 30-day returns on sculptures in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

To start a return, contact us within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is at the customer's cost.

Bespoke and custom-commissioned pieces are non-refundable once production has started, as they are made specifically to your specification.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
