Description

A seated angel rests on a low bench-form stone with a moulded cap and foot, a gathered cluster of roses in her lap and one hand laid flat on the seat beside her. Her wings rise behind her and her gown falls the full drop to the ground, pooling in folds at the front.

Seated Angel Resting on a Bench Form

The pooled gown is the whole reason this piece works and the reason it is difficult. The drapery has to fall from a seated figure, clear the moulded foot of the bench and then break into folds on the ground without any of it touching the bench itself, so the last hand-width of stone is worked free on all sides. The roses in her lap are undercut back to their stems and left until the gown around them is finished.

A bench-form memorial reads low and horizontal, so it suits a wide plot, a family grave, a cemetery lawn that allows an upright, or a quiet corner of a memorial garden. The seat is a real surface and people will leave flowers on it, so keep the approach clear. Burial authorities differ on bench forms in particular, so check theirs before you order.

Lettering a Bench Face at Seat Height

Ten weeks. The bench is cut and its mouldings run before the figure is begun, because she is measured off the finished seat height and a bench altered afterwards would leave her sitting wrong. The pooled hem is freed last, when there is nothing left to work above it. The bench face arrives blank, ready for a name and dates in the lettering you settle on, or left bare for your own mason. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops. Around 3,054kg in two pieces, craned into position on a poured foundation.

Every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of destination.

  • Sculptures under 50cm — shipped by air freight. Typical delivery 1–2 weeks after production is complete.
  • Sculptures 50cm and above — shipped by sea freight. Typical delivery 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

For larger sculptures where faster delivery is needed, air freight is available at additional cost — contact us before ordering for a quote.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

We accept 30-day returns on sculptures in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

To start a return, contact us within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is at the customer's cost.

Bespoke and custom-commissioned pieces are non-refundable once production has started, as they are made specifically to your specification.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
