A violin standing upright, the instrument itself cast in clear resin and cut through in layers, so its body is built up of stacked slabs, with rust-coloured trails drawn through the resin like smoke. The scroll and the neck rise clear above the body, and a deep black block is supplied, the violin standing on it along the base of its body.
Casting an instrument clear turns it from a thing that makes sound into a thing that holds light, and the layers are what keep it from reading as glass. The body is cut through in horizontal slabs, so each layer catches its own edge of light and the violin's curves are traced as a stack of outlines. The rust trails are drawn through the resin before it sets, drifting across the layers like smoke through a window, and they are the only colour on the piece. The outside faces are polished and the trails inside are left exactly as they fell.
A hall, a music room or a landing. It is tall and it wants to be read straight on. A pale wall behind, because the clear body is seen through and a dark ground fills it with shadow. Light from behind is what shows the layers and the rust trails; from the front the polished faces reflect and the layering is lost. The outline of the violin reads from any distance, and the trails inside it resolve as you approach.
Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. The trails are drawn finer, a tint is put through the clear body, and pale marble is cut for the block. Put a tint through the body and the trails have to be redrawn stronger, or they disappear into the colour around them. The block is levelled before anything else, then the violin is lowered onto it. Two people, and it stays upright the whole way. Two people. It is a tall flat object and it does not like being carried on the diagonal. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A violin cast in clear material with rust trails stands in our indoor sculptures; the instrument as a subject suits our contemporary and modern sculptures, and the rust-trailed casting joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
