A metal sculpture of thick flat plates, folded and overlapped like a ribbon caught mid-turn, finished in a rust-brown patina that varies a little from plate to plate. It is carried on a clear acrylic block, and that block stands on a tall black marble plinth veined in white. The clear block is the whole trick: it reads only as a thin pale band of edges, and the metal appears to float just above the stone.
The clear block has to do two jobs that pull against each other. It carries the whole weight of the metal, so it is a solid block, never a sheet; and it has to read as nothing at all, so its sides are clear and its edges left crisp, since a chamfer or a scuff would catch light and announce it. The metal is the other half of the argument: thick plates, folded and bent through a deep curve, rest on the block at only a few points along their lower edges, so the whole composition seems to have settled there rather than been fixed. The rust-brown of the patina is warm against the cold black and white of the stone below.
This is a floor piece, met standing, and its folds read from in front and slightly beneath, hardly at all from above. It wants a position rather than a surface: a hall, a stair landing, a room corner, or against a pier between windows. Light from the front and one side is what shows the patina; backlighting turns the plates into silhouettes and loses the colour that is the point of them. Keep it out of a traffic line, since the floating illusion depends on the clear block going unnoticed.
Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. The composition is drawn per piece and the number of folds is open in both directions; a version in polished or blackened metal is offered, and the patina itself comes as this rust, a verdigris or a dark bronze tone. The plinth comes in this black marble or a white one, made to whatever height brings the metal to the level the room needs. The clear block can be made deeper for a greater float. Set the stone down first and check it level, then place the block on it, and the metal last. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Rust-brown plates floating on a clear block above black marble, the piece is shown with our metal sculptures, our abstract sculptures and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
