Rippled Clear Slab & Rock Plinth Resin Console - 220cm
Rippled Clear Slab & Rock Plinth Resin Console - 220cm $13,50800
Description

This cast resin and fibreglass console has a clear slab rippled across its whole top surface, with an edge that wanders rather than running straight. At one end it sits on a black plinth cast as a rough broken mass with the split faces of rock; at the other it is carried on a single plain rectangular leg of the same clear resin, which reads almost as a sheet of glass. A second black rock, a fraction of the size, stands on the slab near the plinth end. The two supports are deliberately unmatched, so the piece reads as a slab set down on found ground.

One Rock, One Leg, and a Long Slab

The two supports are deliberately mismatched and that asymmetry is the design. At one end a black plinth stands as a rough broken mass, opaque and matt, with the flat faces and sharp edges of split rock. At the other there is a single plain rectangular leg in the same clear resin as the slab, so thin and so transparent that it barely registers and the slab appears to be held up at one end only. The slab itself is rippled across its whole top and its edge wanders, thinning at the extremities. The small black rock standing on the surface repeats the plinth above the waterline, which is what stops the two ends reading as two unrelated objects.

It works behind a sofa, along a hall wall, or as a serving surface, and it wants generous clear space along a wall. The two ends are different, so it has a definite orientation: put the rock plinth at the end people arrive from. Both feet need level floor. It is very heavy, arrives in parts, and takes four people to bring in. Indoor use only.

The Span, the Rock, and Getting It In

Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. Most of it is the rock plinth. Three things are settled at order. The length is open, the clear leg can be replaced with a second rock plinth if a matched pair of supports is preferred, and the slab is offered tinted. The rock on the surface can be left off. Overall length and top thickness are each specified. Several ordered together are worked so that the shape of the rock plinth agrees. The crate is packed to keep the single clear leg clear, and it takes four people to move. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A black fibreglass rock under one end, a clear leg under the other, relates this console to our fibreglass sculptures; as a serving surface it counts among our art furniture, and the mismatched supports suit our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
