Red Pad Clear Acrylic & Black Plinth Bench, 135cm, with clear acrylic seat, red upholstered cushion, black block base, on a plain white background.
Red Pad Clear Acrylic & Black Plinth Bench - 135cm $7,42500
Description

A bench: a clear acrylic slab seat carrying a bright red upholstered pad along its length, supported on a matt black block at one end and a squared clear acrylic bracket at the other. The pad runs the full length of the seat, and the black block is squared on every face and stands flat to the floor.

A Black Block at One End, Clear Acrylic at the Other

The seat is a single acrylic slab, cut and polished on all six faces, and it is bedded onto both supports across their whole contact rather than at points. The clear bracket is worked from solid and its two inner arrises are the hardest part: in clear acrylic an arris that wanders shows as a grey line from across a room. The pad is built to the finished slab so it sits without a gap at either end. The black block is finished on all four faces and flat underneath, because it carries half the seat and has to bear evenly.

Long enough to seat two side by side, it belongs in a hall, a dressing room or a wide landing, or across the foot of a bed. The two supports are different, so the piece has a front and a back worth deciding before it goes down, and the black block gives it enough weight at one end to sit steady on a soft floor.

The Pad, the Bracket, and Ordering More Than One

Making a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks, and making a bespoke one 5–6. Most of it is the clear bracket end. You settle three things. The pad is made up in a fabric you supply, the black block is offered in another finish, and the bracket can be built at the other end instead. Seat length and seat height are each specified. The group is made as one so that the tone of the red pad reads the same on each piece. It is crated round the clear bracket and the upholstered pad and needs two people to walk it into place. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Clear acrylic cut square and polished places this bench among our acrylic sculptures; as seating it belongs with our art furniture, and its blocky ends with our geometric sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
